Our little bug is CRAZY! I thought Emma was a hard baby, but no. Lydia is worse. Which means if the next one (promise I'm not pregnant) is even worse, then we're done after that. No more. So maybe if I start praying now, then when I do feel like having another one, it will be a little less crazy.
Lydia started crawling like right after her 8 month post. And man she is fast now. Emma used to cry whenever I would leave a room in our last tiny apartment. If you leave Lydia she just follows you and pants happily (pants out of excitement, not exertion). You seriously just turn around and she is gone. We've learned to shut the bathroom doors, because she discovered toilet paper - another thing I never had to worry about with Emma. Lydia loves to un-roll the toilet paper. She also loves garbage cans. She loves to dig through garbage cans and stick whatever she can into her mouth. We really have to watch her. She is also a big climber already. She loves to attempt to climb the couch. Falling off of it a few times has definitely not deterred her.
She also loves car keys. If she gets a hold of them, heaven help the person who tries to take them away from her. You will get the biggest scream of your life. Her personality is (we believe) starting show through too. She seems like she is going to be a very independent, determined and bossy little girl. She likes to do things when and how she wants, and if you try to stop her, she gets very upset with you. If you move something she isn't supposed to have, she finds another way to get it. She also has no problems taking whatever Emma has. For example, in church yesterday Emma was eating a veggie stick (love those things!) Lydia decided she wanted it, so she took it and attempted to eat it. They are still a little too hard for her so I took it away...she wasn't too happy with me.
She also had her 9 month check up. The doctor said she weighs 16 lbs 9oz, is 27 1/4 inches long and has "a big noggin" Both my kids have had big heads...like 90th percentile big heads. Just means they are going to be super smart I guess! She also has 6 teeth, and is trying to give up baby food. She throws a fit at the dinner table until you give her a bite of whatever you are eating. Which is completely opposite of Emma who throws a fit because she doesn't want to eat what you are eating. Kids are so picky!

Don't know what the heck Emma is doing!
"Mom are you done yet?" :)
Your 2nd-born sounds like mine...she is little miss independant. So exasperating!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say she sounds exactly like Brooklyn - it does get better. By the time they are walking around and talking, the independence thing is actually pretty nice and life gets A LOT easier on you.
