Just Another Post

We went to a splash park yesterday for a birthday party.  E had SO much fun.  She is such a water baby.  It was a nice day yesterday which means it wasn't hot or humid so the water got a little cold.  So, even though she's shivering, she keeps going back for more!  Silly girl!  And of course I forgot my camera!  One day I'll get this prepared mommy thing straight.  So since I don't have any new pictures, I show some old pictures I found! :)
These are at City Creek Center in Salt Lake when we went in April.

E learning how to use the doggy door.

 E and her favorite person
One of E's favorite toys is my old cell phone.  She loves to sit and talk to grandma on it.  The reason I say she call's grandma is that my mom is the only person she talks to on my working cell phone and when she repeatedly says "hello" into the toy cell phone, she gets very upset when no one (aka grandma) doesn't say "hi" back.
E also LOVES to look at pictures of herself.  She points to all of her pictures and says "me! me!"  Although, somewhere in there we've messed up because now any picture with a kid in it is "me!"  We were getting new auto insurance the other day and the agent had a picture of her nephew on her desk and E kept saying "me! me!"  We'll work on that.  The only other people she will recognize by name in photos are mom, dad and Tilly.  Go figure.
We're finally starting to settle in more.  We've found the bottom of all the closets finally!  One day our living room will be complete and organized when we can afford a bookcase and a desk since those wouldn't fit in the moving truck.  We're still adjusting to Tyler's school schedule and one car.  In Logan we had a wonderful bus system.  Out here it sucks!  One day maybe we can have two cars and our lives will be simpler...and E will have a more "consistent with her schedule" bedtime.  Until then we'll just keep plugging along!

We're Here!

Well...we've made it.  We're here in Greensboro, NC.  And even though my apartment still mostly looks like this even after a week of living here
This is the only picture I'm willing to show :)
...we are indeed alive.  Here are the highlights of our last 2 weeks.

Tyler graduated from Utah State University.  Sadly, these were the best pictures I could get.
Yes, this is on the jumbo-tron
Yes it is actually Tyler down there.

E didn't want to cooperate.

The whole family...and E still refusing to cooperate.

A few hours later we moved everything out of the old apartment and early Sunday morning they drove off...
39 hours of driving ahead of them....don't they look happy?

Then me, E and my mom flew out on Tuesday.  I didn't get any pictures of that.  It was too hectic and crazy of a day.  No eating, and barely making our connection.  After my cousin picked us up from the airport we just collapsed on her couch with dead looks on our face.  We sadly weren't very exciting that day.

Then Wednesday we moved in. The apartment is luckily bigger than our last (it should be since there is another bedroom), but the kitchen is smaller.  Now I had a small kitchen before, but this one is TINY.  BUT...its redeeming quality is that there is a pantry.  If it didn't I would have probably sobbed.  Not cried...sobbed.  It's that small.
Here is the big difference we've had since moving.
The view from our apartment

 and driving around town...

Ya...definitely not in Utah anymore.
But so far so good.  Tyler started school on Monday and we haven't seen him since.  Poor guy!  He also landed a great internship at a local hospital which will REALLY help with the whole med school application process.  His boss used to be on the admittance committee at Florida State and has already offered her services.
So, while there are moments I sit and wonder how we are ever going to survive, or cry because I realize how far away I am from everything and everyone I've ever known (and because I'm pregnant) or pray that we can make some friends, I'm also grateful I still have one little buddy!

Til next time!
