8 Months

Emma is 8 months old today!  She's growing up so fast!

Emma loves to play.  She loves anything she can get her hands on, and always finds it so fascinating.

She's also starting to love Peek-a-Boo.  You put the blanket over her and she throws it off as fast as she can.  It's so funny!  (Sadly she just wants to grab the camera so you don't get the full effect.)
Excuse my sweaty gym face.
This month she's really taking off crawling.  She's gone from scooting to tummy off the floor!  Which means she's also into everything.  She's just like my parent's dog, Tilly...she likes to get anything she knows she's not supposed to get into and ignores the stuff she's allowed to play with!  Her latest thing is trying to play with the cable box, the internet modem and the router.  As soon as she's on the floor anywhere remotely near those things she races over and I pull her away and she laughs and crawls right back.  It is a little funny, but she's still a stinker.
(I apologize in advance...I didn't realize the microphone was on my side of the camera so you can hear me pretty loud!)

She now loves to eat just about anything.  Especially if you are eating it.  When we all sit down for dinner she freaks out if you are eating something different than she is and will continue to freak out until you give her some of your food.
She still makes the funniest faces.

Emma also loves to brush her teeth.

Unfortunately she is is struggling with sleep.  Or rather I'M struggling with her sleep.  She has night terrors and we believe they are getting more intense because when she wakes up she screams a lot more intensely.  and now she freaks out any time you try and put her to sleep...and I mean FREAKS out!  Like it takes a few minutes to calm her down after she's worked herself up.  It doesn't matter if its nap time or bed time or that she's tired.  Unless she is completely exhausted she will throw a huge fit!  And she now will only nap for 30 minutes at a time.  Why? I don't don't know, but its really frustrating.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Because I have no idea how to help her!
She's still fun though.  She's definitely more active.  She likes to play with you and her giggle is so cute!  I also love going to the store and without fail at least 1 person tells me how cute she is.  And she is definitely cute! You can't help but love her.

The Funny Faces of Emma

So Emma has started this funny thing (well a few weeks ago) where she scrunches up her face and blows out through her nose.  And she'll just do randomly...when she wants something, when you won't look at her, when you do it to her etc. Its so funny! (I'll have to get a video of it one day)

HAHAHA! I laugh every time she does this!  Apparently I did this too...so at least she  does something like me!  Since everyone says she looks just like her Daddy.

Yup! I think so too.

Cedar City

Oh my goodness life has been CRAZY this past week.  We went to Cedar City last weekend and had a great time visiting with family and some friends.  Then we got home and have done nothing but wedding stuff!  I had 2 cousins get married on the same day (both on my mom's side of the family).  So we got home Sunday, helped with wedding stuff Monday and Tuesday.  Went to one cousin's endowment session Tuesday night, set up the reception on Wednesday had reception Wednesday night, took down reception and set up luncheon.  Went to wedding Thursday morning, went to luncheon took down luncheon.  Drove to Pleasant Grove for the other cousin's reception and drove home; getting home at 11:00! I'm pooped!  Luckily so is Emma.  She's been up til 9 or 10 every night for the past week (none of which have been on purpose!)  So she's been sleeping very well today!
But anyway, here are some pictures from our trip to Cedar (I didn't take any of the wedding.)
All the Anderson grandkids

Ashton and Emma...Emma loved Ashton.  And the other way around.  Ashton would play with her and always called her "cousin Emma."  It was super adorable.

Emma and Kaylee...we couldn't get them to sit still at the same time.  If one was sitting the other was crawling around!  Silly girls!
Can you tell they are only a month apart?

Our first and only picture of Uncle Deric holding Emma.  She really liked his facial hair.

And the grandparents with all the grandkids!

This was the only day I took pictures unfortunately, but I assure we we had a wonderful time!

The Park

Last weekend we took Emma to the park.
We played on the swings

 She likes being held better.

We went down the slide (pardon the sideways video...we're still learning)
I wasn't ready for the camera and the slide was REALLY hot!

And played on the tractors.

But what Emma loved most about the park?
The grass.

Anytime we tried to sit her in the middle of the blanket she'd fling herself onto her stomach, crawl to the edge and pull back the blanket and stroke the grass like it was someone's hair.
Guess you learn to enjoy the simple things in life again by watching your child.
