Hope y'all had a fabulous 4th! (Hey, I can enjoy my southern-ness for just a little bit longer!)
We spent our 4th like we do every other holiday!...sick. Lydia had started a runny nose on Thursday; although I think hers was mostly teething since that was all she ever got...besides being cranky. Emma however woke up in the middle of the night Friday morning with a fever. Poor kid. Luckily with modern medicine and an amazing mother she woke up (later) fever free, and just a little stuffy. So being the excellent parents that we are, we took them to the parade. It was kinda lame. Partly because I left the camera sitting on the table at home. It started out great...colonial and all...it was REALLY cool. Then it just got political...as in a random dance team after 3 or 4 "floats" of people saying "vote for me!" So it ended up being really lame.
(Thanks Grandma for the outfits!)
Don't you just love her bow! (found it at Hobby Lobby on clearance like 2 years ago!)
Silly camera flash!
Isn't he so cute! :)
Later that day we decided to go to the park...since that is my girls' favorite place in the world...(only closely followed by the bathtub.) As you can see on their faces...!
Happy 4th!

10 months
My baby is 2 months away from being a year old! Excuse my while I shed a few tears. It almost makes me want another baby...ALMOST. For now I think I'll enjoy sleeping through the night and other such luxuries.
Anywhoo...10 months. What's new with Lydia? She's CRAZY! I think I've said this before, but I thought Emma was a hard kid...she is nothing compared to Lydia. Lydia is a happier baby though...so that's nice. It makes up for the constant over-turned garbage cans with trash spread all over the floor, and the toilet paper constantly being un-rolled, and the fights over a simple afternoon nap. Yup. At least she's happy.
Guess the flash was a little much.
Thanks Grandma for the cute dress!
Emma didn't want to be left out! ;)
Typical Lydia face
And for your enjoyment, this is one of her favorite things to do.

Two and a Half
Today my little girl is two and a half. Shut the front door!
She is cute and cuddly and feisty and stubborn all rolled into one little girl.
Her favorite things are:
-Looking at Pictures
-Talking to people on the phone. Right now her favorite is Grandpa, or "pa-pa" as she says.
-Building with Blocks
-Coloring
-Nursery
-the Library
-Watching her favorite shows: Daniel Tiger, Barney, Super Why, Curious George, Dora etc.
-Yogurt
-Honey Toast
-Anything carbonated
-"playing" with the toys at the store
-friends (aka anyone 8 and younger is called her friend)
Oh and Pink. ANYTHING pink.
Her least favorite things:
-Dinner time
-Being told what to do
-Her sister after nap time
Overall she's pretty cute and we love her. I guess we'll keep her around.
Here's a video we made for Aunt Jackie. Just thought I'd share.

We do things a little different around here
Sorry I'm late in posting this week. Nothing special. I'm just lazy. :)
So this is how we played this week.
Emma dragged Lydia all over in the laundry basket, then threw in some toys whenever Lydia would whine. I didn't mind. Gave me a few moments all to myself!
And this is how we watch TV
With buckets on our heads...
Hey...everyone is a little different!

More Posts
I realize I'm a slacker at posting. Mostly our days consist of 1)staying inside because its raining. 2) staying inside because its is WAY to hot and humid to go outside. or 3) staying inside because we don't have a car. So basically we stay inside a lot, which translates to we don't do much, therefore I don't feel I have anything exciting to post about...unless Lydia turns another month older or something. But I'm going to try and be better. No one's life is that exciting ALL THE TIME. At least I hope, or I need to be let in on everyone's secret. So I figure I'll take pictures and just post something once a week. Don't hold me to it, because I know I'm not going to be perfect on this, but I'm at least going to try! So here's this week...
Emma is looking at herself in the mirror in this one. And I think waving to herself.
At least they get along....most of the time.

9 Months!
Holy Crap! 9 months old...which means she has been out of me longer than she was in me. Weird. I wish pregnancy would go this fast (no I'm not currently pregnant).
Our little bug is CRAZY! I thought Emma was a hard baby, but no. Lydia is worse. Which means if the next one (promise I'm not pregnant) is even worse, then we're done after that. No more. So maybe if I start praying now, then when I do feel like having another one, it will be a little less crazy.
Lydia started crawling like right after her 8 month post. And man she is fast now. Emma used to cry whenever I would leave a room in our last tiny apartment. If you leave Lydia she just follows you and pants happily (pants out of excitement, not exertion). You seriously just turn around and she is gone. We've learned to shut the bathroom doors, because she discovered toilet paper - another thing I never had to worry about with Emma. Lydia loves to un-roll the toilet paper. She also loves garbage cans. She loves to dig through garbage cans and stick whatever she can into her mouth. We really have to watch her. She is also a big climber already. She loves to attempt to climb the couch. Falling off of it a few times has definitely not deterred her.
She also loves car keys. If she gets a hold of them, heaven help the person who tries to take them away from her. You will get the biggest scream of your life. Her personality is (we believe) starting show through too. She seems like she is going to be a very independent, determined and bossy little girl. She likes to do things when and how she wants, and if you try to stop her, she gets very upset with you. If you move something she isn't supposed to have, she finds another way to get it. She also has no problems taking whatever Emma has. For example, in church yesterday Emma was eating a veggie stick (love those things!) Lydia decided she wanted it, so she took it and attempted to eat it. They are still a little too hard for her so I took it away...she wasn't too happy with me.
She also had her 9 month check up. The doctor said she weighs 16 lbs 9oz, is 27 1/4 inches long and has "a big noggin" Both my kids have had big heads...like 90th percentile big heads. Just means they are going to be super smart I guess! She also has 6 teeth, and is trying to give up baby food. She throws a fit at the dinner table until you give her a bite of whatever you are eating. Which is completely opposite of Emma who throws a fit because she doesn't want to eat what you are eating. Kids are so picky!
Don't know what the heck Emma is doing!
"Mom are you done yet?" :)
